By tying a news article on corruption to the name of someone, fake news producers can create adverse feeling against that person. That is the power of propaganda.
Example:
With the tittle Lobbyist known for Trump ties charged with steering illegal contributions to Clinton (https://www.politico.com/news/2019/12/03/george-nader-mueller-indicted-campaign-finance-075046), you would think that the article is another news about another misdeed committed by Pres. Trump. Actually it is a news about a misdeed on behalf of the Clinton’s camp, his opponents.
