Buttigieg’s Derailment: NTSB Exposes East Palestine Claim as “Misinformation” – JONATHAN TURLEY
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has been repeatedly criticized for transportation problems, including the holiday pile up at our ports that slowed delivery of goods in December. He was also criticized for his response to the recent airport shutdown. I have not joined in that criticism because I am not sure that he has direct responsibility for some of these problems. However, Buttigieg recently raised a legal claim to blame the Trump Administration for the train disaster in East Palestine, Ohio. The claim was not only manifestly false but Buttigieg knew or should have known it was false. The implications are deeply disturbing. When confronted with a disaster, Buttigieg not only made a false claim but attempted to weaponize a tragedy against political opponents. That is a serious problem for a public figure and worthy of condemnation.

Twitter boss Elon Musk has dropped the hammer on American corporate media outlets by declaring that they are racist against whites and Asians.
“The media is racist,” Musk said.
“For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians.
“Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America.
“Maybe they can try not being racist.”
A Twitter user said of “Dilbert” creator Scott Adams: “Adams’ comments weren’t good.
“But there’s an element of truth to this…it’s complicated.

The “Orange Man Bad” folks in corporate media are certainly singing a very different tune than the one they had expected to sing this past week. After all, this was supposed to be the week when they finally got him. This was supposed to be their golden opportunity to gleefully report on criminal charges against President Donald Trump.
Instead, most have been talking about grand jury foreman Emily Kohrs. Some have issued criticism against Judge Robert C.I. McBurney, who presided over the special grand jury. Still, others are concerned that the investigating district attorney’s team working the case improperly. It’s all a mess.
Is this by design? Probably not. It’s probably just bad decisions made by multiple people. But I can’t help but …

If you want a perfect example of how corrupt our system of government has become, just look at the massive cover up that is going on in East Palestine, Ohio right now. Federal, state and local officials are telling the public that everything is just fine when everything is obviously not just fine. Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after the agency refused to provide records of communications related to election misinformation flagged by its Election Integrity Partnership (EIP).
Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit after another agency under the DHS, the Cybersecurity and Information Security Agency (CISA) failed to comply with an FOIA request filed last October.
We obtained a copy of the complaint for you here.
Judicial Watch had requested all communications related to EIP’s work sent via Atlassian’s Jira platform between employees and CISA employees and social media companies and other organizations that flagged election misinformation including The Center for Internet Security, the National Association of State Election Directors, and the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensics Research Laboratory.
Numerous organizations privately communicated through Jira, according to the lawsuit.
“The Elon Musk ‘Twitter Files’ are the tip of the iceberg, as the federal government ran a massive, secret censorship op against the American people,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “That the DHS is hiding these censorship records in violation of FOIA law shows the agency still has something to hide.”
In a separate lawsuit, Judicial Watch is suing the DHS for all communications between CISA and EIP, alleging that the agencies were actively flagging content in last year’s midterms. EIP flagged right-leaning news websites, including The Epoch Times, Breitbart, Fox News, The Washington Times, the New York Post, and Just the News..
